Pregnancy Massage Course

The Pregnancy Massage course is a course that meets National Occupational Standards (NOS).This means you can be confident in the knowledge that the content and hours spent studying on this course meets the required level to gain a fully recognisable qualification. 

​

Learn how to perform a professional and relaxing massage with the client in the side lying position. You will learn new specific movements and how to adapt your own massage to suit your clients’ physical and emotional needs.  A truly wonderful and relaxing treatment to offer your clients.

Course Duration

This is a one day course.

Starting at 10am finishing at 4.30pm

  • To understand the bodily changes in pregnancy

  • Methods of preparation

  • Importance of posture & positioning of the pregnant client

  • Contraindications and cautions

  • Effects and benefits of pregnancy massage

  • Massage techniques (whole body)

  • Benefits of massage during pregnancy

  • Consultation techniques and treatment planning

  • Massage routine with the client in the side lying position

  • Contra actions and aftercare

Qualification Gained

FHT Diploma in Pregnancy massage

​

Assessment methods

Practical assessment on the day.  Continual assessments takes place during the day to assess practical skills and to assess knowledge gained during the course.

​

Pre requisite

Students must be over 18.

Recognised Anatomy and Physiology and Massage qualification

A good standard of written and verbal English.
